If you are looking for a family-friendly and affordable hotel in Yuma, Arizona, this Holiday Inn Express & Suites is for you. The 3-star IHG hotel is clean and welcomes pets.
Per usual, my husband and I were road tripping from Arizona, back to Oregon in the winter. This Yuma, Arizona desert delight was conveniently located 3 miles from Yuma International Airport and next to I-8.
We were greeted upon check-in with a warm welcome and 2 complimentary bottles of water. Additionally, we had the option of a drink and snack or 500 IHG hotel points. I always opt for reward points.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites room types
The 3-star hotel consists of 120 rooms with four floors. Room types range from 20-30 king rooms, 60 double rooms, 6-8 suites per floor with 6 ADA suites and 10 ADA hotel rooms.
Our room, #124, is a king suite, upgraded from a king standard room due to the fact that I’m an IHG Platinum Elite rewards member (and they had the availability to bump me up a room category.)
Hotel rooms include comfortable mattresses with two firm and two soft pillows. Our king suite includes a 50″ flat screen tv. Additionally, there is an area with mini fridge and Keurig Coffee maker.
I appreciate the desk area with chair and wall outlet, as I had to work this part of the trip. The room includes black out shades. Light sleepers might want to use ear plugs if airplane noises bother you.
Our bathroom includes a single sink and a tub/shower combination with Dove bath amenities.

Breakfast at Holiday Inn & Suites Yuma
Every breakfast offering at each Holiday Inn & Suites is a little different. The one consistent factor that I appreciate is the large, self-service refrigerator that typically holds yogurts, almond and regular milk, and hard-boiled eggs.
My husband gravitates towards the hot dishes. Our visit features scrambled eggs, turkey and pork sausage, biscuits and gravy, hot oatmeal, a pancake machine, cinnamon rolls, muffins, bagels, and toast.
Breakfast is available from 6:30 – 9:30 a.m.
The hotel offers AAA and IHG discounts. A complimentary shuttle is available to the airport from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and within a 3-mile radius of the hotel. The pet fee on our visit was $30. FYI, some Holiday Inn & Suites hotels are not pet-friendly. Parking and WiFi are complimentary at this Yuma hotel.
Check-in time is 4:00 p.m., and check-out time is 11:00 a.m.
