The Okavango Delta is situated in a water-based environment and a rich oasis distinct from other places in Africa. Even the animals adapt to the water, with sightings of elephants and lions that swim the flooded region as a behavioral adaptation to the waterlogged environment. This camp is an excellent choice for water-based safaris and clearly showcases Botswana, Africa, and its unique wetlands at its best.
Pelo Camp is situated on a small island that is surrounded by permanent water. As a result, many of the lodging activities include safari excursions on the mokoro, a traditional dug-out canoe. Traditional boats are used as well. Because of this, your perspective is lower, and you see things you might miss sitting in a land-based vehicle.
Wildlife sightings vary according to the season, and thus can be experienced year-round for unique adventures each time.
The camp is completely eco-friendly, certified by the Botswana government in accordance with strict regulations.

The Location
Pelo Mokoro Camp is located in the wildlife-dense Okavango Delta. This area is a true wetland, and offers unique wildlife safari opportunities from a different perspective than land-based safaris. A “must” for any lover of African wildlife.
The Hotel
A water camp, Pelo Mokoro Camp, is a rustic camp offering unique and yet remote adventure safari experiences.
There are five guest tents at the camp, so reservations are a must. The camp is all-inclusive and serves three tasty meals.
The common areas include a tented dining area and a lounge where you can enjoy your favorite beverage.

The Tented Room
The guest tents at Pelo Camp feature en-suite bathrooms and a covered front veranda. A zipper door separates the sleeping area from the bathroom. The bathrooms include a flush toilet. One of my favorite features is the inside shower, along with a private outside bucket shower. Be sure to try both. After all, how many places can you boast that you took an outdoor bucket shower?
Defined as rustic accommodations, the camp has no air conditioning, but instead, permits guests to enjoy the natural environment. However, for those who must stay wired, there is WiFi in the guest rooms, so you are not totally in seclusion.

Sinks, flush toilets, and an outdoor shower add to the ambiance of the camp.
