I stayed at the Wyndham Grand Costa Del Sol Lima Airport as part of an overnight layover in Lima while in transit from California to Patagonia. Airport hotels are often purely functional, but this one was designed to be more than a place to sleep between flights. Opened in mid-2025 as part of Lima’s new Jorge Chávez International Airport terminal, it represents a new generation of airport hotels that prioritize comfort alongside convenience.

I have stayed in more airport hotels in the last few years and have come to love a hotel that I can walk to from the terminal.

Wyndham Grand Lima Airport

Location

The Wyndham Grand is located directly at Jorge Chávez International Airport and is connected to the terminal by a short walkway on the 2nd level of the airport. This seamless connection is the hotel’s defining advantage. I was able to move from the terminal to my room without navigating traffic, waiting for transportation, or worrying about timing.

This location works especially well for travelers with early morning departures, late-night arrivals, or short overnight connections. It also makes a strong case for spending a buffer night here before or after a long-haul flight, particularly given Lima’s heavy traffic.

While the hotel is not intended as a base for exploring Lima’s neighborhoods, it excels at eliminating friction at one of the most stressful points in a journey.

Wyndham Grand Lima Airport Lobby

Public Spaces

Public spaces at the Wyndham Grand Lima Airport feel more like those of a full-service city hotel than a typical airport property. The lobby is spacious, modern, and thoughtfully laid out, with high ceilings, large windows, and contemporary furnishings.

Check-in was efficient and welcoming, in English or Spanish. Staff were professional, attentive, and clearly accustomed to guests arriving at odd hours or under time pressure.

Seating areas throughout the lobby are comfortable and well-spaced. Whether waiting for a flight, meeting someone in transit, or decompressing after a long journey, the public spaces support a variety of needs without feeling crowded.

Wyndham Grand Lima Airport room

Room Features

My room at the Wyndham Grand Lima Airport was quiet, comfortable, and designed with a neutral and minimalist style. Sound insulation was excellent. Despite being steps from the terminal, we slept without being disturbed by aircraft noise.

The bed was genuinely comfortable, with quality linens. The room layout was straightforward and practical, with enough space to manage luggage without feeling constrained.

Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, making it easy to handle work, travel logistics, or last-minute planning. The desk area was functional, and the power outlets were well placed. Climate control worked smoothly and quietly, which mattered after long flights.

The bathroom was modern and well-appointed, with good water pressure, bright lighting, and ample counter space.

Special Features

What distinguishes the Wyndham Grand Lima Airport is how intentionally it elevates the airport hotel experience. Opened alongside the new airport terminal in 2025, the hotel was clearly designed from the ground up to support modern transit needs rather than adapted as an afterthought.

The hotel has meeting spaces that can accommodate 200 conference attendees or 135 banquet guests. I can easily see using this hotel for a fly-in business meeting.

Food and Dining

Dining options at the Wyndham Grand Lima Airport are designed around flexibility. The on-site restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with menus that accommodate international travelers while incorporating local influences.

Wyndham Grand Lima Airport breakfast room

Breakfast was included in our stay. I appreciated the extended and early dining hours, which are essential for airport-based stays. Breakfast service began at 5 am, early enough to accommodate early departures, and service was efficient without feeling rushed. The breakfast buffet was well-appointed with international and Peruvian specialties. The coffee was noticeably good.

I have not eaten dinner at this restaurant, but I did stay at the old Wyndham Lima airport, which is still open by the old terminal, and found the restaurant there to be tasty and not as expensive as you would expect.

Wyndham Grand Lima Airport bar

The bar area offered a comfortable place to unwind after a flight or before turning in for the night.

Room service was available and practical after long travel days.

Facilities and Amenities

The hotel offers amenities that go well beyond what many airport properties provide. The fitness center is modern and well-equipped, suitable for stretching or maintaining a routine between flights.

Wyndham Grand Lima Airport spa

There is also a beautiful spa, an unexpected and welcome feature for an airport hotel. For travelers dealing with jet lag or long layovers, this adds real value and contributes to feeling refreshed before moving on. It is located downstairs from the lobby and gets natural light from the interior light well of the hotel.

Things Nearby

The primary attraction near the Wyndham Grand Lima Airport is the airport itself. This is a hotel chosen for logistics rather than location-based sightseeing, and that clarity works in its favor.

Who This Hotel Is For

The Wyndham Grand Lima Airport is ideal for travelers with early flights, late arrivals, or overnight connections through Lima. It works particularly well for international transit passengers, business travelers, and anyone who wants to reduce uncertainty around airport transfers.

It is also a strong option for travelers who want a comfortable buffer night before or after a long-haul flight. Those planning to explore Lima itself will be better served staying downtown or in the touristy Miraflores or Barranco neighborhoods, but as a transit hotel, this property performs exceptionally well.

Final Thoughts

One warning about this hotel is that it is the Wyndham Grand Costa Del Sol Lima Airport, but the old airport hotel is still open with the confusing name of Wyndham Costa Del Sol Lima Airport. The last time I tried to stay in this hotel, I accidentally booked the old hotel, which is 15 minutes away or so via a free shuttle.

My stay at the Wyndham Grand Lima Airport showed how effective an airport hotel can be when it is designed with intention. The combination of direct terminal access, quiet rooms, and full-service amenities turns what is often a necessary stop into a genuinely comfortable experience.

Rooms start at $235 a night. The hotel can easily book up during busy seasons.

For travelers passing through Lima who want efficiency without sacrificing quality, the Wyndham Grand Lima Airport stands out as one of the strongest airport hotels in South America and a fitting addition to the city’s new airport terminal.
