The Location
Situated in Flagstaff just off Interstate 40, Elev8 Flagstaff is a jewel at high altitude. They advertise themselves as a base camp for everything.
As such, the hotel is right off the interstate and can conveniently serve as a hub for many of northern Arizona’s experiences.
Nearby is Northern Arizona University, only a 5-minute drive, while popular Sedona is a 39-minute drive. The South Rim Grand Canon is only a 90-minute drive. Be sure to save time for a visit to Walnut Canyon National Monument, about 14 miles from the hotel by interstate.
The Hotel
When you book a room at this hotel, be prepared to experience an abundance of amenities. Some of my favorites include an indoor hot tub, a dry sauna, and a seasonal pool. Outdoor loungers and a picnic table are also available. You will feel as if you are at an exclusive spa.
Other features are what you can expect at most hotels these days, like high-speed Wi-Fi and a business center. Free self parking is available onsite.
However, they also have a 24-hour front desk, a gift shop, and an adjacent restaurant and sports bar called Dirty Birdies, which are within easy walking distance. Here, you get a 10% discount on any regular-priced item on the menu. A great place for breakfast, they extend a 10% discount to all hotel guests for breakfast as well. However, if you are looking to pinch pennies, help yourself to the free coffee, tea, and espresso that is available in the gift shop next to the reservation desk.
The 24/7 indoor spa and jacuzzi set this property apart from their competitors.

Rooms range from Deluxe Kings to Kings with views of the mountain peaks or the courtyard. Some also include a balcony. A Deluxe Queen with two beds and an ADA-accessible queen room are also available.
Rooms include high-speed WiFi, 50″ flat screen TV, mini fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker.
Nearby restaurant choices are abundant, with a variety of local and international food offerings. Some of the popular restaurants include Satchmo’s, Delhi Palace, El Tapatio, and Karma Sushi Bar Grill. My personal favorite is the locally-owned Northern Pines Restaurant.
Dirty Birdies is wihin a 2-minute walking distance and extends a 10% discount on all food items to hotel guests. All you have to do is show them your key.

The Bottom Line
The hotel is currently undergoing major renovations, so rates may be less expensive now than in the future. Take advantage of this price point. You get a lot for your money.
The beds are very comfortable, with room-darkening shades, and the sauna and Jacuzzi will make you feel like you’ve checked into a spa. An adequately equipped 24-hour fitness center, as well as an outdoor pool (seasonal) and an indoor pool, is also available.
Take advantage of the services of the on-site concierge for assistance with dinner reservations or booking various excursions.
The only downside is that there is no elevator, so if that is an issue, be sure to request a room on the ground floor. If this is not possible, the hotel will be more than happy to help with your luggage.
