I expected a comfortable room when my husband and I checked into Home2 Suites Georgetown. I did not expect cookies waiting for us or s’mores kits inviting guests to gather around the patio fire pits after dark. After a full day of travel, we were happy to spot cookies near the front desk. My husband and I each grabbed one before carrying our bags upstairs. It was a welcome and tasty surprise.
During our June visit, the hotel became our comfortable home base for exploring Georgetown’s historic homes, locally owned businesses, bourbon culture and famous Kentucky horses.
After days packed with activities, I appreciated returning to a quiet, spacious suite where I could put my feet up, sort through photos and get a restful night’s sleep. The complimentary breakfast, indoor pool, refrigerator, and easy parking made our stay even more convenient.

By the end of our stay, three features had made our days noticeably easier:

Breakfast helped us get on the road quickly each morning. At night, my husband could settle onto the couch while I worked at the desk, so we never felt as though we were living on top of each other.

Home2 Suites by Hilton Georgetown is located at 270 Tiger Way, just off Interstate 75. Although the hotel is outside the historic downtown district, we found its location convenient for reaching Georgetown attractions while avoiding downtown parking challenges.
We stayed only three nights, but I still appreciated the features designed for longer visits. The refrigerator held our drinks and leftovers, while the separate sitting area gave me room to review photographs without taking over the bed. I especially appreciated the laundry facilities since we were on day five of a 12-day trip. I did several loads of laundry before repacking.
I knew Georgetown was between Lexington and other stops in Kentucky’s Bluegrass Region, but I was surprised by what a cute town it was with so many little boutique shops. Our press trip introduced us to the city’s rich collection of experiences.
We explored Georgetown’s historic downtown, browsed local shops, and visited the Scott County Farmers’ Market. At Maime’s Fine Wine & Gifts, we attended the Bourbon Genesis II Release Party, “The Founder’s Sip.” It was a fun introduction to Georgetown’s bourbon scene.
History played a significant role in our visit. We toured the Georgetown & Scott County Museum and visited Ward Hall, an impressive Greek Revival mansion with connections to Kentucky’s past. We also visited Elmwood Stock Farm and spent time at Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Farm, where retired racehorses receive the care—and attention—they deserve.

Our itinerary was not limited to horses and history. I especially enjoyed the Cook & Dine with Chef Rodney. While we didn’t get to do any hands-on cooking, we had a front-row seat to the experience. Bleubird Studio had some amazing artwork on display. I’m a nut for sunflowers, and I purchased a gorgeous sunflower print. With such a varied schedule, staying at a hotel with simple highway access and free parking made moving between activities much easier.
Hilton lists Georgetown’s city center approximately 1.7 miles from the hotel, Ward Hall 3.4 miles away, and Old Friends Horse Farm just over five miles away. The Kentucky Horse Park is less than eight miles from the property. For us, the location worked especially well because we were bouncing between downtown Georgetown, farms, historic sites, and other stops around the area.
My Room at Home2 Suites Georgetown
My first impression of our suite was how clean, bright, and spacious it felt. Good natural light came through the windows, and the layout provided distinct areas for sleeping, working, and relaxing.
It was great to have room to spread out. I usually worked at the desk organizing notes and reviewing the day’s photos while my husband could relax on the couch and watch TV without bothering me. There was plenty of room for luggage in the closet.
Since we were several days into a 12-day trip, our suitcases were already starting to look a little lived-in. Having enough storage to unpack a few things helped keep the room from becoming a jumble of clothes, bags and travel gear.
The kitchenette was one of the room’s most useful features. It included a full-size refrigerator rather than the small mini-fridge found in many traditional hotel rooms. We stored water, milk, leftovers, and a few treats we had purchased along the way. Even during our three-night stay, the extra refrigerator space came in handy.

Our bed was comfortable, and the suite remained quiet at night. After full days of touring farms, historic sites, businesses and restaurants, we slept well. In a hotel review, that matters more to me than flashy extras. A property can have an impressive list of amenities, but if I cannot get a good night’s sleep, the stay is not successful.
The bathroom was roomy, clean, and easy for us to share. We could both get ready without constantly moving toiletries or waiting for space, something I appreciated on mornings when our itinerary started early.

Breakfast was included with our stay, which saved us both time and money. Most mornings we kept breakfast simple with waffles, eggs, breakfast meat and fruit before grabbing coffee or orange juice and heading out for another packed day. I always go for the waffles!

Indoor Swimming Pool
The indoor pool provided a relaxing break from our itinerary. It was not crowded when we used it, which made the experience more peaceful. I appreciated having time to slow down and float in the pool after spending much of the day on my feet.
Outdoor Patio and Fire Pits
The outdoor patio with fire pits was a hit with guests. In the evenings, the staff put out s’mores kits for guests to use outside. The gesture was simple but memorable.
The patio was small, but once the fire pits were glowing, guests began talking while roasting marshmallows. It felt friendly and relaxed after a full day of sightseeing.
Fitness, Laundry and Business Amenities
I didn’t use the fitness or business centers during our stay, but both are available. I did use the complimentary Wi-Fi regularly while sorting photos and keeping up with my travel notes.
Home2 Suites properties are designed with longer stays in mind, but we were happy to have the laundry facilities available for a small fee.
Pet-Friendly Rooms
The hotel welcomes dogs and cats, with a maximum of two pets per room. At the time of publication, Hilton listed a nonrefundable pet fee of $50 for stays of one to four nights and $75 for stays of five nights or longer. Policies and fees can change, so verify them before booking.

We were pleased with the hotel. We had slept soundly, washed several days’ worth of travel clothes, and had enough room to relax without tripping over our luggage. The kitchenette made the suite more functional, while the comfortable bed and quiet atmosphere gave us the rest we needed.
What moved the stay beyond practical, however, were the small signs of hospitality. The warm welcome from the staff, cookies for arriving guests and evening s’mores kits created moments I remembered after checkout.
For our Georgetown itinerary, the hotel offered exactly what we needed: room to unwind, a quiet night’s sleep and an easy start each morning. I would especially recommend it to couples exploring Kentucky horse country or travelers using Georgetown as a Bourbon Trail base.
