Holiday Inn Express & Suites Paso Robles Wine Country Hotel

Are you looking for an affordable hotel in California’s Central Coast wine region? The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Paso Robles wine country hotel is an IHG pet-friendly property. The hotel is composed of 2 separate buildings with parking spaces in between.

Three-story Holiday Inn Express & Suites green and blue logo sign on the outside of the Paso Robles hotel. The hotel building is a combination of white stucco, gray faux brick and red stucco on the far-right section of the building. There is a porte-cochere in front of the hotel building & 2 white cars parked to left of hotel entrance.

The 3-star, 91-room Holiday Inn Express & Suites could qualify as a boutique hotel in room count and level of hospitality. However, its IHG brand means that you’ll get the extra perks of a swimming pool and complimentary breakfast that Holiday Inn Express guests have come to expect.

Located 5 minutes by car from downtown Paso Robles, 36 minutes from the San Luis Obispo Airport, and 7 minutes from Sensorio Paso Robles, the solar-powered light display, there’s plenty to keep you entertained at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Paso Robles. This California central coast wine country hotel is planted smack dab in the middle of more vineyards and tasting rooms than you’ll have time to visit. The Amtrak train does run close to the property. Fortunately, the train runs in the daytime, so noise isn’t an issue.

Hotel lobby with faux wood flooring. Flat screen TV mounted to faux brick wall. Rectangular wood table and three leather and steel chairs surround coffee table. Left of gathering area is a table with 6 bar-type chairs; 3 on either side of black top table. Two small aloe vera plants are centered on table top.

Room types at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Paso Robles

The 3-story hotel was renovated in 2017, and new beds were added in 2024. Rooms feature 1 king bed or 2 queen beds and 16 suites. I reserved a king standard, which was not upgraded because the hotel was sold out. Our room, #322, had a walk-in shower, a king bed, a desk and chair, a flat screen TV, a microwave oven, and a mini fridge. The 300 square foot room was light-filled and had a comfortable lounge chair and slide-over table if you wanted to read or stream a movie from your laptop computer.

Being an equestrian myself, I liked the horse portraits in the room, a nod to Paso Robles’ ranching history. As we stay at a lot of Holiday Inn Express hotels, I appreciate that this property didn’t decorate with corporate hotel cookie-cutter art.

Hotel amenities at Paso Robles Holiday Inn Express & Suites

In addition to the indoor saltwater pool, which is open 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., there is a fitness center available to hotel guests 24/7. The gym offers Elliptical machines, free weights, a treadmill, and a stationary bicycle. Two public golf courses that are not affiliated with the hotel are nearby.

Don’t miss the gas fireplace in the outdoor, fenced patio area. If we were traveling with our dog, this is where we’d want to hang out in the evening.

Indoor rectangular swimming pool. Four black wicker and metal chairs sit on the cement patio at the deep end of the pool.
