A Hotel Inspired by Auburn’s Traditions

Part of the Graduate Hotels collection, which specializes in boutique accommodations in college towns, the Graduate Auburn captures the essence of Auburn University and its surrounding community. The hotel’s design pays homage to the university’s history and culture, with vintage-inspired décor, warm wood tones, and plenty of orange and blue accents—the school’s signature colors.
Guests will notice nods to Auburn traditions throughout the hotel, from artwork featuring Aubie the Tiger (the school’s beloved mascot) to memorabilia celebrating the Auburn Tigers football team. Every one of the 177 rooms reflects the school’s spirit, with retro-style furniture and unique touches that make each stay memorable. My personal favorite is the wallpaper in the bathroom. It features Auburn icons that are important to students, alumni, and fans.
Amenities and Features

The Graduate Auburn offers a range of amenities designed to make guests feel at home. These include:
- Comfortable Guest Rooms– With plush bedding, charming décor, and modern conveniences, the rooms feel like a chic, cozy retreat. Guests can choose from kind, double queen, oversized king rooms, or a presidential suite. I was especially delighted with the luxurious feel of the bedding as it felt like home and not like standard hotel bedding.
- Bo Jackson’s Beans– The hotel’s on-site café is a great spot to grab a coffee, breakfast, or a light snack. Don’t miss the café’s bust of Bo Jackson himself! Weighing close to 800 pounds, this incredible carving was made from one single piece of wood.
- Pet-Friendly Accommodations– The Graduate Auburn welcomes pets, making it a great option for family travelers with furry friends.
- War Eagle Supper Club– Paying homage to the original War Eagle Supper Club, the restaurant is a classier, more upscale version of the traditional college bar scene. It also has fantastic aerial views of the football stadium from its outdoor seating area.

Auburn, Alabama: A True College Town
Auburn is often referred to as “The Loveliest Village on the Plains”, a nickname inspired by an Oliver Goldsmith poem. It’s a vibrant destination known for its small-town charm, passionate football culture, and welcoming atmosphere.
Home to Auburn University, the city revolves around the school’s activities, with Saturdays in the fall dedicated to cheering on the Auburn Tigers at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The iconic Toomer’s Corner, located steps from the Graduate Auburn, is famous for its historic drugstore and the tradition of rolling the oak trees with toilet paper after big Auburn victories.
Beyond football, Auburn offers great dining, outdoor activities, and a lively arts scene. Visitors can explore Chewacla State Park for hiking and picnicking, check out local eateries like Acre or Mama Goldberg’s Deli, and visit the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art.
