Beautiful Bali – Tranquility at Bali Sawah Indah

Bali is a populous island of Indonesia that is very popular with travelers from around the world. There is one side that has all-inclusive resorts, franchised hotels, and high-rises, and it is generally agreed that it is where the action is. Expect to see many tourists, especially from Australia, as well as many young people.

Then there is the quieter side, where Ubud is the main city and where you will discover more alternative lifestyles. This is where the Yoga Center is located as well. While Ubud can offer you many restaurants, hotels, and shopping, it still tends to be crowded and can be challenging if you are seeking a quiet retreat. However, just outside of Ubud is the Bali Sawah Indah. These boutique bungalows redefine peace and tranquility.

The Hotel

Bali Sawah Indah is a collection of five boutique bungalows in the Tampaksiring area of Bali. Located just north of the metropolitan city of Ubud, about 5 miles, it is in the countryside, just 20 minutes driving north. This peaceful and serene setting is a small haven of tranquility located in the middle of rice paddies. As a result, guests are immersed in the sounds of nature. This intimate, ecotourist property is set amongst lush, manicured gardens that frame an outdoor saltwater swimming pool and sun terrace, with a main bungalow that serves as a restaurant/bar, lounge, and dining facility. It has an on-site customer-only restaurant offering typical Indonesian menus.

Breakfast is included in the room rate. Outdoor saltwater swimming pool, Indoor Dining Room & Lounge, Outdoor dining with a view. Complimentary WIFI is available in the common areas as well as the bungalows. Also, there is free parking for self-driving visitors. Children are welcome. However, no pets and no smoking are allowed on the property.

The Bungalow

The bungalows are located in the middle of huge rice paddies, with plenty of birds and wildlife. As a result, the place is romantic, exotic, serene, and beautiful at the same time. There are 5 separate bungalows on the property, with each one constructed from eco-material. Two bungalows accommodate families and sleep up to 5, while the other 3 are king bed bungalows. Family rooms are quite spacious at 861 square feet, while king bed bungalows are also spacious at 377 square feet.

Each bungalow has its own toilet and bathroom for your privacy. My shower was unique, and I expect the other bungalows were the same. The shower was an extension of the private bathroom but allowed me to view the outdoors, all with a privacy screen. Sort of an indoor/outdoor shower combination. Indoor/Outdoor Personal Shower A personal patio allows quiet moments so one can enjoy sunrise and sunset from the privacy of their own enclosure. Personal Bungalow Patio.

Each bungalow includes air conditioning, a flat screen television, a room with coffee, and room service. Additionally, all rooms include a light breakfast. Massage services are available upon request. My friend had a total body massage in the privacy of her bungalow for about $20 USD that lasted well over an hour.

At this time, the property does not have its own website. However, they are represented by both Booking.com and Priceline.com and various other consolidated hotel websites.

The property is also very helpful in arranging guides and transportation for extremely reasonable fees. Our guide was also our driver and gave us personalized tours of the island over the course of our two days, and also picked us up at the ship terminal and dropped us off at the airport for our return flight home. The Bottom Line

For those interested in peaceful yet luxurious stays not far from Ubud, this property is hard to beat in terms of value, hospitality, cleanliness, views, and overall service. My friend and I had an extraordinary travel and stay – an experience you won’t find at a regular hotel. You may encounter some insects, bugs, reptiles, and frogs. Be sure to bring insect repellent. Airport shuttle for an additional fee (about 2 hours away).
