Three questions totally stand out at the Pullman Montparnasse. The first time I heard it was upon arrival. The second time occurred at magic hour. And the last time I heard that “pull-my-rubber-arm” inquiry was at check-out.
“Could I offer you some champagne?”
Who gets that?

On my recent trip to Paris, I had a quick 24-hour stopover before I was to embark on a rail journey departing from the illustrious Gare Montparnasse. My goal: get to Nantes, France, for a CroisiEurope Loire River cruise.
Well, there’s so much to gush about on Pullman Montparnasse. Let’s begin.

The 411
On the metro line from Paris Charles De Gaulle airport, it’s an easy transfer via subway that includes a walk to the hotel. Remember, you’re in the Paris metro network, so prepare for long tunnel walks and negotiating stairs with roller bags.
For train goers, you can’t beat the close proximity to Montparnasse train station. This gateway is a network of mobility. Need a metro? It’s there. Need a train? Absolutely. In my world, I departed mid-morning via TGV INOUI —thanks to advance ticketing with RailEurope.com. If you crave seamless rail connections, staying at this posh skyscraper of a sleep pad practically launches you into travel bliss.
After a café au lait and full buffet breakfast, you simply saunter across the street into the bowels of Gare Montparnasse. That’s where my rail-journey fantasy truly began.
Around Pullman Montparnasse, handy shops are footsteps away—convenient for international jetsetters comme moi who forgot essentials (like a hairbrush).
Located in the 14th District, the hotel sits near the theatre-packed Rue de la Gaîté—Paris’ version of Broadway. Thespians, brasseries, neon signs, late-night chatter… it’s a local fantasy for flâneurs of all stripes.
And let’s dish on the VIP experience when you become a Platinum Diamond member. ALL Platinum Diamond means bubbly whenever your heart desires. I enjoyed a welcome toast.
Floral lovers will appreciate the curated succulents and flora by charlot—La Fabuleuse (ficus lyrata) and Le Flambeur (Sansevieria Trifasciata) flirted with me at the exclusive lounge.
And yes, Parisian glamour means pianos everywhere. This hotel has a gorgeous ebony-gloss open grand piano waiting to be tickled with Amélie tunes or moody Michael Nyman masterpieces. There’s a fab red Rodin reproduction of The Thinker perched beside it, too.

Location, Location, Location
You get the macabre, the spectacular, the handy, and the deliriously local flavor. The famous Montparnasse Cemetery is right below—home to icons like Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, and Susan Sontag.
No wonder this district retains its panache. Picasso, Hemingway, Man Ray—20th-century giants once caroused in these very streets. Today, hit modern-day landmarks like Tour Montparnasse and its panoramic observation deck or snag a theatre seat on Rue de la Gaîté, Paris’ “Theatre Street.”
Hotel Snapshot
By day, hotel guests and bus tours assemble in the second-floor lounge, plugged into devices or chatting in group huddles. It’s lively, buzzy, metropolitan.

By night? A full glow-up. Purple LED lights wash the escalators in a sultry glow. Handwoven art installations float from gleaming white walls. I chose the private glass elevator—my personal sci-fi capsule—to reach my Platinum Diamond Membership check-in, where a minimalist chaise and reading lamp wait to rescue weary travellers.
Breakfast: Healthy Glow
Depending on your reservation, breakfast may be included. For age-defying boosters, check out a framed Age Defence menu, giving two options of the best breakfast practices. The sweet option gets you seasonal fruit for digestion optimization, followed by muesli loaded with dried fruit, nuts, and seeds, all washed down with a rosemary-infused hot drink. The salty option (my preferred) was a start with seasonal fruit for a digestion starter, and yes, some carbs like sourdough, which “helps in cell renewal,” and soft-boiled eggs, another booster essential for skin cell renewal. Yum!! The same hot drink applies here.
Of course, it’s France—expect bio-brie de Meaux AOP, organic honey, warm baguettes, charcuterie, and international hot food stations.
More Food Scene
Prefer Mediterranean sunshine? Fi’lia Paris Restaurant offers handmade pasta, wood-fired breads, and that satisfying “I’m in Italy, but in Paris” ambience.
On the run? The Grab+Go outlet is your salvation—croissants, antioxidant-tonics, artisanal snacks, and ready-made bites ideal for travellers who want to nibble now and trot later.

Suite Highlights
All rooms include a workspace, a spacious desk, charging galore, and there is even day-use availability for quick stopovers.
My suite: 1638. Wow.
Perched in the Skyview Tower, Suite 1638 is my private Parisian observatory. Windows reveal sweeping Montparnasse rooftops and Left Bank charms, bathing the entire suite in golden Paris light.
Design-wise, it’s modern residential luxury: sleek lines, smoky woods, grey-on-grey elegance, and glimmers of gold hardware to remind you you’ve “made it.” The king bed is a cloud—crisp, cool linens and a pillow menu for the neck-picky (guilty).
The workstation? A dream for writers, Zoom-ers, and note-takers—wide, bright, and loaded with outlets.
The bathroom boasts a walk-in rain shower with spa-grade pressure big enough for a mini performance of Les Mis. A sprawling closet corridor offers a vanity mirror, plush robe, slippers, and a French-snack-stocked minibar.
Bottom line: Suite 1638 was my very own Parisian sky perch.

Hotel Perks
As an ALL Accor Loyalty Member, Le Salon gives you more added luxury service from the already fabulous standard check-in. My personalized welcome included a glass of bubbly, fresh fizzy water alongside snacks and a quiet zone to sit back, relax, and let the staff come to you for your check-in needs.

Skybar —sounds like a James Bond film, could have been. A totally different vantage point of iconic Paris views. You get an unobstructed panorama from this 32nd-floor perch. See the Eiffel Tower all a glitter in its starry lights and get close-up views of Paris’ only skyscraper, Tour Montparnasse. A true local gem, couples professing amore, and more couples on ‘first city dates’ canoodle beneath a full moon, with the backdrop of a cinematic Paris in all its nightly seduction. While you pay extra (25 euros), entry access gives you a glass of your favorite beverage and uninterrupted staying time. So linger ‘til your heart’s content.
For cardio therapy and strengthening, head to the 24/7 Power Fitness Gym. More of that lilac hue lighting shimmers. “Showing up: Half Battle” is the welcome mat that greets you in the lustry disco-lit setting. The hotel also offers in-room sports kits (for a charge) if you don’t want to be all aglow in front of other fitness fans.
Parents will enjoy knowing that babysitting services are available (additional cost). So, you could scoot out to your favourite Parisian haunt, knowing your child is in good hands.
And just beyond the front door, Les Ateliers Gaîté beckons with shops—but the real headline is Gare Montparnasse mere steps away. Wheel your bag across the street, and your entire French itinerary materializes.
Final Impressions

In a city where logistics can feel like a full-contact sport, the Pullman Montparnasse makes movement effortless. Whether you’re arriving from CDG or catching a TGV INOUI, this hotel eliminates travel stress. My own layover felt like the gentlest transition ever: a smooth metro ride, a quick stroll, and I was sipping champagne before even checking the map. The next morning, I simply rolled my bag across the street and descended into Gare Montparnasse for my Loire-bound adventure.
But it’s the neighborhood that seals the deal. The 14th is the real Paris—the one where locals live, flirt, linger, argue, shop, make theatre plans, and kiss under the moonlight. From Skybar, watching couples canoodle high above the city, I felt plugged into a true spirit of Paris.
Pullman Montparnasse nails the trifecta: seamless rail access, breezy airport connections, and a neighborhood steeped in everyday Parisian magic.
