If you are looking for a sweet spot to stay in the sun-soaked town of Kaş, look no further than the Radisson Blu Hotel Kaş. During my recent stay, I was delighted with the stunning water views and the hotel’s many charms.
This was my much anticipated excursion after a busy visit to Istanbul and a stay at the Peninsula hotel.
Kaş is in the province of Antalya on the Mediterranean coast in southwestern Türkiye. A walkable resort town, you can drop into a bevy of bright cafés dripping in bougainvillea blossoms. It’s a premier scuba diving destination, but I was intrigued by the easy access to ancient ruins.
Arriving at the hotel in the afternoon, I was escorted up some stairs to my room. Opening the door, I was met with smooth stone surfaces and calm neutral tones. Modern mosaics graced the floor while contemporary art and woven baskets hung on the walls.
It was a cool, peaceful spot to unwind after a day of archeological exploration under the hot sun.
The hotel has 50 guest rooms and the décor throughout is Mediterranean inspired.
I was especially impressed with my bathroom. It was an authentic Turkish bath with a basin attached to the shower. The sink was on a marble counter projecting right into the bedroom.
I also noticed an indoor fireplace for getting cozy in the winter months.
Pulling back the curtains, I stood on the Juliette balcony, taking in a view of the aqua-blue pool. Beyond the pool, I could see tree-filled hills and a sparkling sea.
Looking around the room I noticed the amenities included a coffee/tea maker, mini fridge, bathrobe and slippers, flat screen TV, and free Wi-fi.
A Variety of Rooms are at the Radisson Blu Hotel Kaş
The Radisson Blu offers its guests a variety of accommodations. Mine was a Superior room with a sea view. They also had smaller Standard rooms with garden or sea views. Some suites had private pools and terraces. Also on offer were a two-bedroom suite or Family room, both with two king beds and private pools. The two-bedroom Presidential suite had two king beds, a sofa bed, and a private pool.
The hotel offered parking, valet parking, laundry service, room service, and an on-site spa. Plus, there was an airport shuttle available.
A Beautiful Buffet Breakfast
One of my favorite things at Turkish hotels is the breakfast. Platters of cheese, cold cuts, and a variety of olives were spread out in the hotel’s Zeugma restaurant overlooking the pool. A coffee machine whirred in the background, delivering steaming cappuccinos and lattes. Of course, you could also order a thick, sweet Turkish coffee.
I did not stay for dinner, but a staff member told me the restaurant also serves dinner. Plus, he told me they had a Japanese restaurant called Terasu’shi that opened at 7 pm with outdoor seating.
For a late-night tipple, he also explained Radisson Blu’s little lobby bar Ares was open 24 hours.
On the Hunt for History
History hounds love this area of Türkiye, a situation on a trail called The Lycian Way. Not much is known about the Lycians but their history harkens back to the Paleolithic ages. Excavations have proved they existed for many centuries. Many of the ruins we see today are from their classical and Hellenistic periods.
Kaş was dotted with ancient reminders of the coastal Lycian city of Antiphellos. I took a short walk from the town center and was thrilled to come across the amphitheater, open to the public for free.

There was also a 4th-century B.C. Lion or King’s tomb with two carved lion heads in town. Pausing for a bit of a rest, I took a seat on the bench that butted against the tomb for some quiet contemplation about these ancient people.
Head to the Beach
Beach bunnies enjoy the location of the Radisson Blu Hotel Kaş as well. This area is nicknamed the Turquoise Coast for its startling blue waters. And beaches abound. Some are pebbled and many are found in small coves. Around 10 miles from town is Kaputas Beach, one of the most beautiful in Türkiye.
A free shuttle will take you from Radisson Blu to one of the smaller nearby beaches.
