Downtown Dallas Hotel Joule Exceeds Expectations

The Joule Hotel is for the guest who seeks to be in the midst of the latest in arts and design and uncommon attention to detail.  A 1920s bank building turned four-star boutique luxury hotel, The Joule Hotel has a chic downtown ambiance that exceeds guest expectations.

Located within a mile of the Dallas Arts District, historic sites, restaurants, and entertainment venues, The Joule Hotel is at the center of Dallas’ vibrant arts and culture scene.

Culture nerd? Walk to the Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center, AT&T Performing Arts Center, the Wiley Theater, and the Meyerson Symphony Center.

Is retail damage your drug of choice? Across the street find one of Dallas’ most exclusive enclaves for designer fashion, Forty Five Ten. Walk a little further and explore the Neiman Marcus flagship store

But if history and science are more your jam, learn about the fated day in 1963, when a nation’s history was forever changed at the Sixth Floor Museum. Science and history are yours at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science or immerse yourself in life underwater at the Dallas World Aquarium.

Art Collection

Known for its accessible art collection both inside and outside the hotel, works by prominent contemporary artists include Andy Warhol, Mungo Thomson, Roger Hiorns, Tony Tassett, and Ellsworth Kelly. Throughout the hotel’s public spaces, restored mosaics are a highlight of the art collection, rescued from the 1942-era Mercantile Bank Building. If you’re staying at The Joule, be sure to ask about the self-guided art tour.

Dining at Hotel Joule

Start your day at  Weekend Coffee, also open to the public, there is cozy seating or take it on the road. The lobby bar is open from 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm except on weekends when it is open until 11:00 pm. Light food is served in addition to a small wine list, creative martinis, and good people-watching.

CBD Provisions

Located inside The Joule Hotel, CBD Provisions is a Texas brasserie that celebrates the region’s natural bounty and culinary traditions with a commitment to the finest ingredients and southern hospitality.
Try the famous Berkshire pig head carnitas with a cocktail from award-winning mixologist Gabe Sanchez.

Sassetta

Sassetta is a modern trattoria featuring house-made pasta, pizzas, regional wines, and cocktails—a popular local dining spot for after-work cocktails, lunch, dinner, and celebratory events.  Don’t leave without trying one of the signature pasta dishes paired with a regional wine. Both bar and table seating are available. This is one of my favorite downtown dining spots.

Midnight Rambler

Creative cocktails, good vibes, and sonic moods await at The Joule’s subterranean cocktail lounge, Midnight Rambler. Helmed by award-winning bartender Gabe Sanchez, forget you’re below ground as you sip on craft cocktails while the DJ spins the mood.

The bartender will make anything you like, but you should try at least one drink from the seasonal menu — it is created by Gabe Sanchez, after all. Among its many accolades, Wine Enthusiast recognized it as one of the Best US Hotel Bars in 2023.

Events at the Joule

Whether you’re hosting a private or corporate event, the Joule provides 30,000 elegant square feet of space on the 5th floor. There’s even a private elevator strictly for event attendees. This is especially welcome when you want to make a surprise entrance as a bride, for example. There are two ballrooms and four meeting rooms plus kitchens on the same floor, and terraces with fabulous views.
