Often, visitors to Europe prefer to stay in chain hotels because they want a quality, safe experience. That’s not to say that European independent hotels are not high quality or safe. However, Best Western hotels are known for consistency and value throughout the brand. The Best Western Premier CMC Girona hotel in Spain met my expectations. I was traveling with my husband and another friend. She was also a BW Rewards member, so our choice of the Best Western Girona hotel was easy.

Best Western Girona hotel lobby with travertine tile. There are 3 tiled steps up to the hotel's restaurant and bar area. An olive green velvet sofa was to the right of the front entrance. A black sofa and 2 black leather chair are left of front door. A large mesh screen with 3 panels separates the restaurant from the hotel lobby.

We were driving from Barcelona to Girona, Spain. It was an easy 1 hour and 15 minute drive, so we had time to explore old town Girona after check-in. The 4-star BW hotel had 111 rooms and was 7 stories high. I thought it was quite funny that a Travel Weekly hotel review stated they had a rooftop bar and swimming pool. Not true. This is why you should trust Hotel-Scoop reviews. We actually stay at the hotel and then write our hotel review.

The front desk manager was friendly. However, no Best Western room upgrade as Hotel CMC Girona was sold out. Unbeknownst to us, Temps de Flors (Flower Season) was taking place in the medieval city in mid-May. This Catalonia, Spain hotel was also filled with a bicycle tour. It should be noted that BW Premier CMC Girona had a secure bike station in the hotel and was popular with cyclists.

King bed with white duvet and 4 white hotel pillows. Two square, gray accent pillows and gray runner were at the base of the bed. A gold-colored leather chair was to the right of the bed with a small, round wood table. A wood desk and chair were across from the bed.

Best Western Premier CMC Girona Hotel Rooms

The hotel was built in 1989 and was located next to El Corte Ingles department store. It was located 15 minutes from both the Girona train and bus stations. We had booked a superior double room, #418, in advance of our stay. There were also junior suites, family rooms with connecting rooms, and a triple room. Our small room had been recently renovated.

The room included a television, mini bar, safe, and air conditioning. The bathroom, which included a bidet, featured Eco Think Green bath amenities. It also included a hair dryer. My husband was making coffee in the far side of the room while I attempted to blow-dry my hair. Unfortunately, this blew a fuse, and we had to call maintenance to reset the fuse. He showed us how to remedy the situation if it tripped the fuse again.

Two beige cloth chairs were on either side of 2 small wood tables. An abstract art sculpture was beyond the tables with a green palm plant to the right of the table. Five glass-paneled windows were behind sheer curtains in the hotel.

This Best Western Premier hotel was pet-friendly with an additional 20 euro fee per night.

Drinking and Dining at Best Western Premier Girona

As mentioned, we headed into the medieval city of Girona after check-in for our 1-night stay. We didn’t experience the hotel bar or restaurant. Room service was available. Breakfast was offered for 13 euros. As I was a Diamond Select member, we received 2 bottled waters upon check-in. We could have asked for late check-out if it were available.

We did take advantage of the private parking lot under the hotel. There were 52 car park spaces at this Best Western hotel. An additional fee of 15 euros was the cost for secure parking.
