El Salvador is a small country with many faces. From the sophisticated allure of the capital city of San Salvador, the Mayan pyramids of Tuzumal and ruins of Joyas del Ceren to the Flower route through vibrant colonial towns, the volcanoes and cloud forest in Cerro Verde National Park and the international surfing and beaches at Surf City, there is so much to see and do.

The Location

Casa 1800 Cerro Verde is a dream come true for nature lovers. Located within Cerro Verde National Park, this boutique hotel is the place to stay if you enjoy nature with impressive biodiversity, cloud forests, and amazing views of El Salvador’s most iconic volcanoes: Santa Ana, Izalco, and Cerro Verde.

With an altitude over 6,500 feet, the climate is cool, the air is pure, and panoramic views will have you sometimes feeling as if you are in the clouds.

Cerro Verde is an inactive volcano at 6,660 feet above sea level. From here you look straight over to the 7,545 feet Ilamantepec, an active volcano, also known as the Santa Ana volcano.

Extra blankets are available upon request for some nights where it can be quite chilly. However, the in-room bedding is more than adequate for most nights. Best to bring a jacket for crisp mornings and chilly nights.

The Food

The restaurant offers Salvadoran cuisine along with dishes that might be called international fusion. For such a secluded place, the choices are quite surprising.

From our dining tables, we could see amazing views of the volcano.  Outside is a chair Casa 1800 is known for at all its properties. It must be famous on Instagram because I watched as many people snapped their photos sitting in the chair with the volcano as background.

The Rates

For the best rates online as well as special packages, book directly with Casa 1800 Cerro Verde. Or check Booking.com or Expedia for competitive prices. Depending on day of the week, season and room type, rates have an average room price of $194.00 USD per night. Check the website for special promotions.
