When you think of hotels in Silicon Valley (Santa Clara Valley, California), it’s likely that chef-driven dining, design-forward suites, and a dynamic beer garden aren’t typically included. But you’ll get all that and more when you visit the Treehouse Hotel Silicon Valley. Anything but a typical hotel for business travelers, the property has a lively energy you’ll feel as soon as you enter the lobby, with its greenery-covered Volkswagen Beetle holding prime real estate.

Accommodations at Treehouse Hotel Silicon Valley
While I secretly hoped that I’d get to sleep in an actual treehouse, the accommodations are much more comfortable with playful features that bring the essence of a treehouse indoors. My king room had plenty of space to spread out, with a cozy nook in the corner that felt like the perfect spot to tuck in with a good book. A mini fridge and coffee machine made waking up easy, and I enjoyed the afternoon on my patio with views of the beer garden.

For those looking for a bit more space, one- and two-bedroom “cabins” are available, which include everyone’s favorite—a soaking tub. While the property is conveniently located near the 101 and 237 interchange, I didn’t notice any freeway noise during my stay.

Things to Do at Treehouse Hotel Silicon Valley
A chalkboard in the lobby shared all the special activities you could enjoy during your stay, from guided workouts to a spoon-carving workshop (which, sadly, was being held the weekend after my visit). The property’s gathering spot is the beer garden, where you’ll find lawn games and plenty of spots to enjoy the California sun with friends. To make things easy, you can order wood-fired pizzas, warm pretzels, and your choice of over 30 beers from the vintage trailer tucked right in the corner. I enjoyed a guava sour at the recommendation of bartender Nate, and it was the perfect option for a warm February afternoon.

With the weather cooperating during my visit (it is California, after all), I spent some time enjoying the pool scene. Reserve a cabana if you plan to spend some time there, and come back when the sun goes down to enjoy the hot tub under the stars. Just outside the pool area is the playground patio, where you’ll find games and a fire pit.

I was quite impressed by the size of the fitness room at Treehouse Hotel, which is open 24 hours and features weight training and cardio equipment for every fitness need. Check the activities schedule to see if they’re offering one of the twice-weekly yoga, bootcamp, or Pilates classes during your stay. When you’re ready to explore the nearby San Francisco Bay Trail, borrow a bike and head out.

Dining at Treehouse Hotel Silicon Valley
Beyond the beer garden offerings, you can pick up grab-and-go breakfast and lunch from Backyard Cafe, located just off the lobby. I started my day with the Bay Parfait, layered with Straus Family Creamery Greek yogurt, fresh berries, nuthouse granola, and goji berries. Ordering via the app makes pick-up easy, or you can opt for in-room dining and enjoy breakfast in bed.
Valley Goat
A highlight of my Treehouse visit was dinner at Valley Goat, where I shared small plates and colorful cocktails with a friend. James Beard Award-winning Chef Stephanie Izard brought her global flavors to the Bay Area with the opening of Valley Goat, and I couldn’t wait to check it out. I previously lived in Chicago where the Top Chef winner got her start, and had dined many times at Girl & the Goat and Little Goat Diner while there.
We started with the avocado dip and plantain chips, which was the perfect way to awaken our tastebuds for the rest of our meal. The smooth spread was topped with queso fresco and chili lime crunch, packing just the right amount of punch without overpowering the dish. Crispy brussels sprouts, goat empanadas, and chicken skewers rounded out our meal, and there was plenty for me to take home for lunch the next day. Before we finished our meal, I was already texting my husband that I needed to bring him here.
