Staybridge Suites Denver Cherry Creek Recently Renovated

My husband and I love staying in Cherry Creek hotels when we visit our Denver-based son. This is our second stay at Staybridge Suites Denver Cherry Creek.

If you are looking for a pet-friendly Cherry Creek extended-stay hotel, keep reading this review. We last stayed here in November 2022. This October visit to Staybridge Suites Denver Cherry Creek saw the recently renovated hotel.

The 121-room, all-suite hotel was renovated from top to bottom in 2024. The only things still waiting for renovation are the 2 hotel elevators. The 3-star hotel overlooks the Cherry Creek walking and bike trail, which connects to downtown Denver.

On our 5-night stay, we were not traveling with our dog this trip. However, this Staybridge Suites IHG hotel is dog-friendly, and it costs an additional nightly fee.

All-Suite Denver Cherry Creek hotel

We’ve stayed at a Hyatt Place hotel in Denver previously but wanted to capitalize on a free IHG rewards night this trip. We were upgraded from a king studio suite to a king one-bedroom suite on the fourth floor. Being a gold status IHG member has some perks, including late check-out and upgraded hotel rooms when available.

Our room, #417, was away from the elevator and offered a view of the Cherry Creek Trail. Extended-stay hotel guests will appreciate the full-sized stainless-steel refrigerator and freezer, as well as the stovetop, microwave oven, and dishwasher.

The suite featured a coffee maker, glasses, plates, cutlery, and a starter supply of coffee, tea, and microwave popcorn. Pots and pans are also available if you want to prepare meals for yourself. The marble countertops also include 2 chairs for the kitchen countertop area.

The suite included a comfortable sofa bed if you were traveling with children, as well as a desk area with a chair and a flatscreen TV.

Blue floor-to-ceiling curtains were partially covering the large picture window to the right of the bed. Double doors separating bedroom not shown.

As we have a queen bed at home, I always appreciate a clean hotel room with a comfortable king bed. Out of the 4 large pillows, 2 stated “firm,” and 2 noted “soft.”

During our mid-October visit, we experienced a bit of a heat wave, with temperatures in the low 80s. All rooms include built-in heating and air conditioning. We used the a/c a few times. However, we both appreciated that the windows could be opened manually to let the fresh Colorado air in at night.

The bathroom had a step-in shower with sliding glass doors. The hotel bath amenities featured Dove shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Dove hand soap and lotion were in the bathroom vanity area by the single sink.

Fortunately, there were plenty of white towels in the bathroom, as we opted to skip housekeeping during our stay. Staybridge Suites Denver Cherry Creek incentivizes guests to forgo housekeeping and instead opt for 250 IHG extra hotel points daily. It took about 26,000 points on our visit to earn a free stay, so every point helps.

Outdoor gas fireplit with 3 wood chairs and a small circular coffee table. The Staybridge Suites Denver Cherry Creek hotel, with large picture windows, is beyond the firepit.

If you are traveling with kids or teens, you’ll appreciate the sport court out back. The tennis court, with pickleball and basketball nets, also offers cornhole. This is in addition to the outdoor swimming pool, which is open seasonally, and the outdoor gas firepit.  There are also outdoor barbeques.

The fitness center and library, which has books and puzzles, are downstairs. I didn’t visit the laundry area, but I did see hotel guests bringing up a clean basket of clothes.

Hotel breakfast buffet with pot of Quaker hot oatmeal. Four silver-plated chafing dishes hold scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, meat patties and roasted potatoes. Beyond is vanilla yogurt and fresh fruit.

Food options at Denver Cherry Creek IHG hotel

If you’ve read my hotel reviews, you know that my husband and I appreciate a complimentary breakfast. As mentioned previously, I opted for fresh fruit and yogurt. My husband likes the hot buffet with biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, and the all-important waffle-making station. He laments that many hotel chains no longer offer bacon on the breakfast menu.

An evening social hour is offered complimentary on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. There is no bar on site. However, there is a snack room next to reception with candy bars, instant soups, and cold drinks for sale.

We had an early morning departure. It would have been nice to have the option to grab a to-go yogurt or granola bar for the road. Alas, this was not an option.

Room rates at Staybridge Suites Denver Cherry Creek range from $149 to $209, depending on the season. The hotel is a member of IHG Hotels and offers AAA rates and discounts to local Denver hospitals.

There is no resort fee. However, since the hotel renovation, there has been a $10 nightly parking fee for outside parking.

Check rates online at Expedia, Booking.com, or Hotels.com.
