Location
When I flew into Tirana for a 4-country Balkan tour, it took me most of an hour to get from the airport to my downtown hotel by Taxi because of the traffic in Albania’s capital. To save myself some stress on my departure, I booked the mk hotel, which is a quick free shuttle drive from the airport.
The hotel is roughly a 15-minute drive from Tirana’s city center without traffic but 45 minutes or worse at rush hour.
Rooms and Accommodations
Rooms at MK Hotel Tirana feature a clean, modern design focused on comfort and functionality. Each room is decorated in neutral tones, creating a calming atmosphere. My room had two black-and-white framed photographs of historic Albanian scenes.
The room included amenities such as high-speed Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and blackout curtains for restful sleep. Rooms also feature eco-friendly touches, with energy-efficient / dim lighting, appealing to environmentally-conscious travelers. The room was very comfortable if a bit Spartan.
Suites are available for guests seeking additional space.

The outdoor pool, surrounded by comfortable lounge chairs, is a focal point for relaxation, especially during warmer months. There is also a bar in the main lobby which is modern, clean and again minimalist in its design sense.
The fitness center is located just off the pool area and is well-equipped, featuring cardio machines and free weights.

mk hotel Tirana’s large on-site restaurant its just off the lobby and it looks out on the pool area. The restaurant emphasizes fresh, locally sourced ingredients and serves a variety of international and Albanian dishes. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offering a buffet breakfast with a wide range of options, from pastries and fresh fruit to traditional Albanian selections. The lunch and dinner menus feature international favorites and local dishes, providing a taste of Albania’s culinary heritage.
Activities and Entertainment
While mk hotel Tirana does not have extensive entertainment options, the hotel occasionally hosts themed nights and cultural events that introduce guests to Albanian music and dance. For families, the hotel can arrange activities and excursions, such as trips to nearby landmarks or Dajti Mountain for hiking and nature walks. Nearby Sites
This is a great hotel for getting to or from the airport, but it is not near much else. I would not use it as a base for exploring the city. For that, I would look for a hotel nearer downtown Tirana.

Rooms at MK Hotel Tirana are reasonably priced, given the hotel’s proximity to the airport and range of amenities. Standard rooms start at around $65 per night. The hotel provides excellent value, especially for business travelers or tourists looking to be near the airport.
