There are more questions than answers regarding how travel to Yosemite National Park will look for the summer of 2025. There’s still no confirmation on whether a peak hours reservation system will return to the national park. In the past, travelers with a lodging reservation within Yosemite have not needed an additional reservation to enter the park.

Lodging within Yosemite National Park
Yosemite National Park features more than a dozen campgrounds. If you’re not the type that enjoys pitching a tent, your lodging choices within the park are more limited, especially if you have your sights set on staying in Yosemite Valley.
There are three year-round hotel options in Yosemite Valley: The Ahwahnee, Yosemite Valley Lodge, and Curry Village. (Located near the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, Wawona Hotel is currently closed with no estimated reopening date.) All three properties, as well as several restaurants and stores, are operated by the park concessionaire, Yosemite Hospitality.

What to Expect from a Stay at Curry Village
There is a unique combination of platform tents, cabins, and motel accommodations available at Curry Village. All of the property’s 403 tents feature beds, linens, and towels; 211 of the tents are heated during the winter months.

There are also 49 cabins, 34 of which have bathrooms. Shared bathhouses are offered for guests staying in lodging without bathrooms.
Stoneman House features 18 motel-style accommodations. All rooms offer private bathrooms and heat. Built in 1913, Stoneman House was originally a dance hall. It was converted to guest rooms in the late 1960s.
Rates for Stoneman House rooms start at $228; unheated canvas tents are available from $94; heated canvas tents from $133; cabins with en-suite bathrooms from $193, and cabins without bathrooms from $186. Slow but free Wi-Fi can be found in the lounge only, and self-parking is included.
What to Expect from a Stay at Yosemite Valley Lodge
Located an easy 5-10 minute walk from Yosemite Falls, Yosemite Valley Lodge features 245 rooms. Ideal for families and friends traveling as a group, the property offers both bunk and family rooms that can sleep up to five people. Onsite Mountain Room restaurant offers upscale dinner service; some tables boast views of Yosemite Falls.

What to Expect from a Stay at The Ahwahnee
The most luxurious of all of the accommodation options within Yosemite National Park, The Ahwahnee is an architectural stunner with 121 rooms and cottages. Even if you don’t spend the night, I recommend the daily property tour. It’s free for all park visitors and loaded with tidbits about the building’s history and design.

The Ahwhanee dining room is stunning, but an ongoing seismic retrofit project is impacting the menu and views. Lunch is not offered; breakfast and dinner is buffet only.
Rates at The Ahwahnee start at $578. Wi-Fi is included. Valet parking is an additional fee; self-parking is not offered.

Good to Know

If you can’t find lodging inside the park, there are a number of accommodation options outside of the park in nearby gateway communities. A handful of new properties have opened in recent years, including Firefall Ranch and Wildhaven Yosemite. Under Canvas Yosemite — the brand’s 12th camp and first in California — opens in May 2025.
