Hotel Punta Bermeja Premium Beach Hotel gives El Puerto de Santa María a polished beach resort option on the Cádiz coast, with sea-facing rooms, resort-style amenities, and a location that works best for travelers who want pool and beach time first and city wandering second.
The hotel opened in February 2026.
Location
This is not the hotel I would choose if I wanted to step out the front door directly into the historic center of El Puerto de Santa María or Jerez. It is a better fit for a traveler who wants to be close to the water, have a pool and spa on site, and use the hotel as a relaxed base for exploring the Bay of Cádiz, Jerez, and Cádiz.
The hotel is just off the Playa de Santa Catalina, giving the hotel a practical advantage for travelers who want to spend time along the coast without driving.
The tradeoff is that you will want a car, a taxi, or a rideshare if your plans include repeated visits to the center of El Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz, or Jerez. That is not a flaw so much as a planning point.
Jerez is close enough for a sherry-focused outing, and El Puerto de Santa María is a natural choice if you want a seafood dinner.
Arrival and First Impressions
Hotel Punta Bermeja Premium Beach Hotel presents itself as a modern coastal resort rather than a small boutique hotel. The property has the feel of a place designed for longer stays, pool afternoons, spa appointments, and resort dining rather than a simple overnight stop.
There is a contemporary resort look, with light, open spaces and a sense that the hotel is trying to connect its interior spaces to the coastal setting around it. The design is modern and clean.

Public Spaces
The public spaces are one of the hotel’s strengths. The lobby and common areas are designed with multiple conversation areas between the front door and the restaurant or the pool deck. The seating extends to the outdoor space in the rear of the hotel as well.
Some, but not all, of the floors in the hotel’s main building also had additional seating areas just outside the elevators.

Rooms
The rooms at Hotel Punta Bermeja Premium Beach Hotel are designed for comfort, featuring air conditioning, a desk, a safe, a flat-screen TV, a coffeemaker, an electric tea kettle, a terrace, a private bathroom with a shower, and reliable Wi-Fi.
I visited in May when the weather was still cool and appreciated sitting out on the terrace and opening the sliding glass door to the room, but in summer, a good air-conditioned room becomes less of a luxury and more of a requirement.
Many rooms, including mine, have sea and pool views, which are more desirable in a property like this. The hotel also offers junior suites. The room experience is practical rather than fussy.
There were a few quirks with the hotel. There was no great place to open a suitcase. There was no minibar. The supplies in the room, such as a bottle of water, tea bags, coffee, and creamer, were provided only once per stay, which does not make the hotel seem like a great place for a longer-term stay. My fellow travelers and I met in the lobby and traded our extra tea bags or creamers. Not the best look.

Special Features
The pool is one of the hotel’s best amenities. The reason to stay at this property is to relax in the sun out near the pool with an occasional break, only to walk down to the beach. I did think it was odd that the pool area did not open until 11 am. That would not work well for a stay with kids, in my experience.
The hotel also highlights sustainability. The hallway lights outside my room were on motion detectors. While it was odd to walk into a pitch-black hallway, I appreciate the energy savings.

Food and Dining
The breakfast buffet was a wonderful spread of cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, pastries, and fruit, with eggs made to order. The coffee lovers in the group were not thrilled with the coffee from the automatic machine. There was a coffee bar, but that was closed at breakfast time.
Food is an important part of any stay in Cádiz province. I was in the area because nearby Jerez was named the culinary capital of Spain for 2026. This region has a strong identity around seafood, sherry, and simple ingredients prepared well.
For dinner, Hotel Punta Bermeja Premium Beach Hotel leans into that sense of place while also offering international options. You can order from the menu or opt for the buffet for 30 euros, which includes one drink.
I would still recommend eating off property at least once or twice during a stay. El Puerto de Santa María is known for seafood, and nearby Jerez wasn’t named the culinary capital without good reason.
Facilities and Amenities

The fitness center is another practical plus. I do not need a massive gym when traveling, but I do appreciate having the option, especially on a longer trip.
- Get a universal plug adapter
- Get a Car Rental
- Get an eSim to be able to use your smartphone abroad.
- Buy Travel Insurance
The spa is another important feature. It has a heated pool, jacuzzi, Finnish sauna, steam bath, bucket shower, mist shower, body shower, aromatherapy and chromotherapy shower, ice fountain, and contrast bath. That is a more complete wellness setup than I would expect from a simple beach hotel. During my stay, the spa was open from noon to 8 pm,
Things Nearby
There are lots of things to do in Jerez and the Cádiz Province. Cádiz is one of the best nearby day trips. Its old town has sea walls, plazas, markets, churches, watchtowers, and a different atmosphere from the beach neighborhoods of El Puerto.
Jerez de la Frontera is the place to go for sherry bodegas, horses, flamenco traditions, and a handsome old town.
Final Thoughts
Hotel Punta Bermeja Premium Beach Hotel offers El Puerto de Santa María a modern resort option with the facilities travelers expect from a premium beach property: a pool, spa, gym, restaurants, a bar, terraces, and comfortable rooms with contemporary amenities. Its location near Playa de Santa Catalina makes it best suited for travelers who want the coast to be part of their stay.
Prices start about $90 a night but vary greatly with seasonality.

I visited the hotel on a press trip visiting the province of Cádiz with the Tourism Board of Spain. The Tourism board paid for my hotel nights. The opinions expressed are my own.
