Hotel Pedro I de Aragón is a four-star hotel centrally located in Huesca, Spain in the region of Aragon. This centrally located hotel can provide a good base for visiting the city and the nearby region.

Location

The hotel is located at Calle del Parque 34, directly opposite Miguel Servet Park. This large green space is one of Huesca’s most pleasant public areas, with broad paths, mature trees, fountains, playgrounds, and shaded seating areas.

The historic center begins only a short walk away. Huesca Cathedral is about 4-5 blocks away. The central shopping area around Calle del Coso and the pedestrian streets leading toward Plaza de Navarra is even closer.

Public Spaces

Hotel Pedro I de Aragón has been renovated, and its public spaces have a polished, contemporary appearance. The reception area is bright and organized, with wood finishes, integrated lighting, black-and-white upholstered seating, and enough space for arriving guests to gather without blocking the entrance.

The lobby is half a story above the street, and there is a dedicated elevator you can use to avoid carrying your luggage up the front steps.

Guest Rooms

The guest rooms at Hotel Pedro I de Aragón are contemporary and functional, with an emphasis on comfort over elaborate decoration. Room categories range from singles and doubles to suites.

Standard amenities include air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a television, a safe, a desk, a minibar or refrigerator, a tea kettle, and a private bathroom with toiletries and a hair dryer. 

Air conditioning is important in Huesca, especially during July and August. Huesca can become hot in summer, and it was quite hot during my stay.

The bathroom was a pretty standard configuration with a shower, but it also included a towel-drying rack, which I love to find in a room because it makes it easier to wash clothes and know I can get them dry before the next day.

Restaurant and Breakfast

Hotel Pedro I de Aragón has an on-site restaurant and bar. The restaurant is a convenient option after a day of sightseeing or driving, though the meal we had there didn’t stand out as one of the better ones we had in Aragon.

A buffet breakfast is also available.  It was a good breakfast, though we were amused that the bottle of wine we hadn’t finished the night before was available to anyone at breakfast. 

Ammenities

One of the hotel’s most notable features is its seasonal rooftop outdoor swimming pool. A pool is not standard at every central hotel in a smaller Spanish city, and it can significantly improve a summer stay. The pool hours were a bit disappointing, as it was only open from 10 am to 8 pm. With a 7:30 pm arrival and a 9 am departure, it was only open for half an hour of our stay.

The hotel has a 24-hour fitness center.  It was equipped with the basics: a treadmill, an elliptical, and a weight machine. The hotel also offers a massage service for €70/Person per massage.

Covered parking is one of the hotel’s most useful amenities for road trippers. Parking is available for an additional fee and may be limited. 

Pets are welcome, although not in the restaurant. Pets can’t be left unattended. One pet per room is allowed (maximum weight: 20 kg). A pet welcome kit is available for €15.

For business travelers or events, the hotel has an event space above the lobby.

Things to Do Near Hotel Pedro I de Aragón

I did not spend much time exploring Huesca, but it can serve as a gateway to the Spanish Pyrenees, which is what we did.

Conclusion

Hotel Pedro I de Aragón can be a good base for exploring Huesca or the Pyrenees. I would explore the local restaurant scene and probably skip the hotel restaurant.
