Picture this: a pair of boutique hotels nestled along the pristine sands of Grace Bay Beach, earning the very first Green Globe certification in the Turks and Caicos. That’s exactly what Ocean Club Resorts pulled off in 2021, and let me tell you, it’s a game-changer. As someone who loves to see indie-owned hotels make waves (pun intended), I was thrilled to check in and discover how this eco-conscious gem balances sustainability with all the indulgent perks you’d expect from a Caribbean escape.
To boot, it’s not every day you check into a beach hotel and find yourself in the company of a merry band of amphibian statues and a pair of friendly resident tabby cats. The playful frogs scattered across the property, coupled with the charming felines, set the tone for a stay that’s as whimsical as it is originally local.
Location, Location, Location
Ocean Club Resorts is perched along the award-winning Grace Bay Beach, a stretch of sand so fine it feels like powdered sugar beneath your feet. And the water? That turquoise hue is so vivid you’ll swear someone cranked up the saturation. Located in Providenciales (or Provo, as the locals call it), the resorts—Ocean Club East and Ocean Club West—sit in the sweet spot for exploring all that Grace Bay has to offer.
Hop on one of the complimentary bikes, and you’re minutes away from boutique shops, art galleries, and cozy island cafés. One of my favorite excursions was the Thursday night Fish Fry, a lively celebration of island culture. The hotel thoughtfully arranged pickups for guests, making it a breeze to enjoy fresh seafood, live music, and the vibrant community vibe under the stars.
Hotel Highlights
Ocean Club Resorts offers two unique beach properties, giving guests access to food and dining experiences at both properties. At Ocean Club East, the vibe is classic and serene. Lush gardens frame the lagoon-style pool. Ocean Club West has a more modern, social energy, and it’s where you’ll find the most direct beach access.
The dining here deserves its own spotlight. At Ocean Club East’s Opus restaurant, the culinary team works wonders with Caribbean ingredients. I’m still dreaming about their cracked conch and the creamy lobster bisque. And don’t even get me started on their wine cellar—it’s a treasure trove of carefully curated vintages, perfect for pairing with the chef’s special surf-and-turf. Over at Ocean Club West, Solana offers sushi with a tropical twist and creative cocktails that are best-enjoyed beachside.
Another standout is Spa Tropique, a haven of relaxation that’s perfect after a day of exploring. With its mellow vibes and skilled therapists, it’s the ideal spot to unwind. Of course, no Caribbean resort would be complete without a commitment to relaxation. From the tranquil on-site spa to the hammocks strung up along the beach, every corner of the property is designed to help you unwind. Whether you’re strolling through the gardens dotted with those cheeky frog statues, or savoring a drink by the pool, the resorts exude a sense of playful tranquility.
And with their recent Green Globe certification, the resorts are leading the way in eco-stays, making sustainability an important part of the guest experience.
Suite Notes: Your Island Home
Ocean Club Resorts has accommodations for every type of traveler, from honeymooners to multi-generational families to young families and even bachelor party types. My One-Bedroom Garden/Poolview Suite at Ocean Club West was the epitome of island chic. It was everything I dreamed of—light, airy, and effortlessly chic. Think island blue accents, breezy white linens, and two private enclosed verandahs, each offering serenity-now vibes. The fully equipped kitchen was a nice touch, perfect for whipping up a quick breakfast before hitting the beach.
For those traveling with a group, the Two- and Three-Bedroom Suites are ideal, offering spacious layouts and separate living areas. Over at Ocean Club West, the design leans modern, with bold pops of color and sleek finishes. Whether you’re staying in a cozy studio or a sprawling three-bedroom suite, every room comes with thoughtful touches like a curated CD collection, an array of flatscreen TVs, kitchen gadgets, a laundry machine, plush towels, and children’s floating inflatables ready for a day by the water.

Ocean Club Resorts takes “perks” to the next level. For starters, guests can borrow complimentary bikes to explore Grace Bay at their leisure. Want to hit the water? The resorts’ partnership with High Wave Tours provides access to paddleboards and kayaks, so you can dive into Provo’s crystalline waters without spending a dime.
One of the most exciting recent developments is their partnership with the Turks and Caicos Reef Fund. This non-profit organization is dedicated to protecting the coral reefs and marine ecosystems that make the Turks and Caicos so special. Additionally, the resorts are able to help coordinate for guests to go to the center and learn about the organization on Wednesdays when they feed the coral reefs or daily to simply learn. Even small actions, like donating a nightly stay of $2 to the fund, make a big impact.
Dining is another area where the resorts shine. Opus is a culinary destination in its own right, with a menu that celebrates the flavors of the Caribbean while offering global flair. The cracked conch and herb-crusted snapper are must-tries, and the dessert menu—featuring a divine rum cake—is worth saving room for. Solana, on the other hand, is perfect for sushi lovers, with a fresh, tropical twist on classic rolls. I spent one blissful evening at the bar, sipping on an island fave—the glorious rum punch, while waiting for the magical hour known as the “Green Flash.”
Overall Impression
Ocean Club Resorts isn’t just a place to stay; it’s an experience that captures the essence of the Turks and Caicos. From their pioneering Green Globe certification to the thoughtful amenities and stellar location, this indie-owned gem proves that luxury and sustainability can go hand in hand. Whether you’re lounging on Grace Bay’s world-famous sands, indulging in a meal at Opus, or diving into the nitty gritty of coral reef protection, every moment here feels purposeful and indulgent.
I felt deep gratitude as I watched the sun dip below the horizon on my final night, searching again for that “Green Flash” over the turquoise water. Ocean Club Resorts isn’t just a getaway—it’s a reminder of why we travel: to connect, discover, and leave a place better than we found it. If you’re dreaming of a Caribbean escape, look no further. This is the spot.
