Located in downtown Glenwood Springs, the Best Western Antlers at Glenwood Springs rocks. Not only is the family-owned hotel surrounded by rocks, but it also sits on 5 acres of landscaped outdoor opportunities in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.

I think this BW Glenwood Springs hotel is one of my new favorites in the United States. Best Western European hotels are still top of the list for me. With 99 rooms, this Antlers Best Western gives off a boutique-hotel vibe. There are 5 buildings that make up the hotel, 6 if you count the main reception building, giving it a resort feel. Take your pick of elk, moose, caribou, deer, and antelope buildings.
My husband and I stayed in Antelope Lodge, by the sports court, while our adult son and his girlfriend stayed in Caribou Lodge. I had booked our room ahead of time. I’m a BW Diamond Select member, which means I receive a member rate, am entitled to an upgraded room category, if available, a couple of bottled waters upon arrival, and I get a late checkout time.

We were staying on a busy Saturday night in late August. Our son and his girlfriend were a last-minute addition. Lucky for us, the hotel wasn’t fully booked. Unfortunately for us, we didn’t have enough BW points for 2 free rooms. However, we were able to use points for our stay and a combination of points and cash for the second room.

The lovely lady at reception checked us in and upgraded my husband and me from a standard king room to the honeymoon suite. Yes, BW Antlers at Glenwood Springs rocks.
It had been 4 years since we’d stayed at another Glenwood Springs historic hotel. Our party of 4 walked by the Hotel Maxwell Anderson on our way to dinner at The Pullman Restaurant – a great spot – by the way.

Our king suite had been renovated in 2019 and looked on-trend with a lovely white, stand-alone bathtub and large white subway-tiled walk-in shower.

Antlers Best Western Glenwood Springs hotel amenities
The year-round hotel is lit up with twinkly lights at night. Three gas fireplaces are situated throughout the 5-acre property. As mentioned, we visited on a hot summer day in August. The outdoor swimming pool was inviting with a secondary children’s pool and a covered hot tub nearby – think wintertime fun.
This Best Western hotel includes pickleball and paddle tennis, cornhole, and volleyball areas. I was impressed with the sizeable amount of complimentary Trek bicycles available for guests’ use. There is also a small play area with structures for young children.

In front of the hotel, on the deck, was a row of wooden rocking chairs. Most of the time, the rocking chairs were occupied with smiling and laughing hotel guests.
Best Western Hotel Highlights
While the hotel was built in the 1970’s, it’s always been family-owned and only had 2 owners. Room rates start at $179 to $329. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday offer the lowest rates, with off-season rates providing the best value.
