The lobby and Dahlia Restaurant at the AZUR Legacy Collection Hotel
Like many North American cities, Vancouver has its share of large convention hotels and chain properties. But if you’re looking for more distinctive accommodations with a central downtown location in western Canada’s largest metropolis, consider a boutique lodging like the AZUR Legacy Collection Hotel.
Here’s the scoop:
The AZUR Legacy Collection Hotel
Opened in 2023 in a newly constructed 14-story tower, the AZUR Legacy Collection Hotel is an independently-run property, with founder and managing director Farida Sayani at the helm and three generations of Sayani women involved in its operations. Sayani’s daughter, Sofia, is the hotel’s food and beverage director, and her granddaughters, Sara and Natasha, both work for the property.
The Sayani family also owns the Executive Hotels chain, but their concept for AZUR was to create a luxury boutique lodging with a more personal feel. The property’s design draws from the Art Deco era, with interesting artwork throughout the hallways and guest rooms.
Convenient to the cruise ship terminal at Canada Place, the hotel is a short walk from downtown attractions, including the Vancouver Art Gallery and the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art. You can also follow the seawall path along the waterfront to Stanley Park.

Lavantine Rooftop Restaurant & Skybar
Facilities and Services
The AZUR hotel has two restaurants: Lavantine Rooftop Restaurant & Skybar on the 14th floor and Dahlia Restaurant near the hotel entrance in the lobby.
Vancouver has surprisingly few rooftop dining rooms, which makes window-lined Lavantine feel more like a secret oasis. Looking out to the surrounding downtown towers, the restaurant has a retractable glass roof that opens to the sky on sunny days. It’s a lovely spot for cocktails paired with Middle East-inspired sharing plates like falafel, muhammara, crispy Brussels sprouts with labneh, or grilled tuna paired with eggplant and harissa.
The smaller Dahlia Restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, starts with pastries, coffees, and typical breakfast plates in the morning, with a more Mediterranean-influenced menu later in the day.
While AZUR doesn’t have an on-site fitness room, guests can request a complimentary pass to the YWCA Health & Fitness Centre around the corner, which has a fully-equipped fitness facility, 25-meter pool, hot tub, sauna, and a range of movement, yoga, and exercise classes offered throughout the day.
AZUR housekeeping staff provide nightly turndown service, setting slippers and chocolates by the bed.
Guest Rooms and Amenities
Guest rooms at the AZUR Legacy Collection Hotel are located on the building’s second through thirteenth floors, with standard king or two queen rooms measuring approximately 320 square feet.
Rooms feature crisp white linens, and amenities include 55-inch smart TVs, Nespresso machines, stocked minibars, walk-in closets, and electronic window shades that provide privacy from the surrounding buildings. Sculptures and art books sit on the guest room shelves.

Crisp white linens top the guest room beds.
The floors in the guest bathrooms are heated, toiletries are from L’Occitane, and robes are provided. Baths in the standard rooms are decorated with white marble, while premier units and suites feature black marble. The larger units have both a rain shower and a deep soaker tub.

The suites have a separate living room with a fireplace, curved upholstered furnishings, and more pieces of art.
The two penthouse suites on the 13th floor have expansive outdoor terraces that, on a clear day, offer views of the North Shore mountains.
