Debuting in 2010, One Ski Hill Place, A Rock Resort, gives Colorado travelers everything they’re looking for – luxury ski resort lodging with slopeside access to everything Breckenridge, but you won’t have to leave as the resort amenities are as incredible as the view!
Located at the base of Peak 8, One Ski Hill Place is the quintessential Rockies destination, with skiing just steps from your hotel room. For those year-round guests to Breckenridge, One Ski Hill Place offers convenient access to an array of activities including Breck Fun Park, mountain biking, golf, and horseback riding.
Located 100 miles west of Denver International Airport and 70 miles east of Vail, Breckenridge is a scenic drive through the Colorado Rockies. Take your journey toward Breckenridge’s Peak 8, and on the right you’ll spot One Ski Hill Place. You can’t miss this sprawling, sustainably-built lodge building, located in the Breckenridge Peaks village, with its variety of lodging, dining and entertainment.
The focal point of the multi-level lobby is the huge three-sided stone fireplace, with leather overstuffed chairs and sofas for seating, and expansive windows. The reception desk is just beyond. We had arrived late evening, and check-in was efficient.
One Ski Hill Place features 88 ski-in/ski-out condominiums, ranging from studios to four-bedroom. Each is distinctive but with the modern lodge interiors, including Italian tile in the bathrooms, granite counters stretch the length of the full-service kitchens with wood floors, gas fireplaces, HD TVs and Blu-ray players. Free WiFi is also available throughout the resort.
Accommodations for my multi-generational family of 6 were exceptional: three bedrooms (including master), full kitchen, dining area, and living room, with an expansive view of the base of Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Peak 8.
We literally could step onto the balcony and watch the skiers and snowboarders access the lift and fly down the mountainside. At the end of the day, we’d slip on our pajamas and watch TV together.
This Colorado luxury mountain resort is among the most luxurious accommodations in Breckenridge. When vacationing in a mountain setting, convenient access is the number one priority and One Ski Hill place has this covered and more. Its ski-in/ski-out accommodations take the cake, with easy access to Breckenridge’s Peak 8 and it’s also steps from the BreckConnect Gondola and the historic downtown of Breckenridge. Four lifts take guests to Peaks 7, 8, 9 and 10 in the winter and to the hiking and biking trails in the summer. Forget about lugging your ski equipment as ski valets hand your skis to you each morning, and then you’re off for a full day on the slopes. You can even ski into One Ski Hill’s bars and restaurants.
There’s a long list of amenities and activities without leaving One Ski Hill Place. The perfect finish to a busy day on the mountain is its well-equipped fitness facility with sauna, steam and massage treatment rooms.
Our family loved the cozy two-lane bowling alley and lounge with mining-themed décor. The bowling alley is complimentary but reservations required. For an additional charge, you can also pick up the phone for delivery of food and/or drinks to the “Mine Shaft.” One evening, we also reserved the complimentary movie lounge/game room. two of these “media rooms” are available, with comfy lounge chairs and 60-inch HD screens to watch a movie or play Wii.
The Living Room is the resorts main restaurant, serving three meals per day, and perhaps our only snafu in an otherwise perfect Colorado spring break getaway. We dined late on our arrival, around 8 pm. Although the restaurant wasn’t full, the service was exceptionally slow, and the time between courses crawled up to 30 minutes. The food was excellent — contemporary menu emphasizing sustainably produced ingredients including Colorado beef, but by the time we finished dining at 10 pm, the grandkids — and quite frankly the adults — were cranky. The management did acknowledge the long wait and apologize.
Ski Hill Grill is the “skier’s restaurant” at the base of Peak 8, accessed through a hallway just past the Living Room restaurant. It’s laid-back and a great place to meet up with friends or take the family. Go early and grab one of the Adirondack chairs on the outdoor terrace.
The T-Bar is America’s highest après-ski bars, slope side at the base of Peak 8, providing best view of the slopes and a favorite stop for skiers and groups.
For those searching for a luxury Colorado mountain experience, One Ski Hill Place is hands-down Breckenridge’s number one choice with its convenient location and lavish yet comfortable accommodations.
